Description

This Environment comprise the facilities that offer network connectivity to server platforms/appliances that are used to support processes and applications that are accessed by external users/machines. It also accommodates facilities to connect to other networks, like the Internet, (business) partners and contractors.

Business Context

This Environments provides connectivity to systems that are used to carry out externally targeted applications, data exchange (between external and internal systems), and connection to the Internet etcetera. These systems are very important for the Internet ordering process, and therefore crucial to ArchiSurance Business Continuity as a whole.


Quality Demands

The quality demands of this Environment are:

Flexibility Adaptability SC At least software and configurations of the facilities in this Environment should be adaptable, because connectivity demands (especially regarding traffic filtering, load balancing and Quality of Service) tend to increase rapidly over time

Reliability Availability High Facilities within this Environment provide connectivity to (centralized) core systems of ArchiSurance. They should be capable of providing this connectivity transparent over two ore more locations, together with all other provisions of the "High" Availability class, in order to prevent disruption of core processes of ArchiSurance
Integrity Medium Because this Environment offers facilities to establish connections with other networks and systems that are accessed by external users/machines, these facilities should be protected against (in-band) misuse, abuse and vandalism.
