}}
This service provides the means to receive and/or collect data in a [[OIAm_data_view|loosely structured form]] ("files") from a source, and deliver it to and/or have it collected by one or more targets. It may also additionally modify the files by transcoding, encrypting/decrypting, (de)compressing, and/or the service may modify the files in transit in other respects. Incoming and outgoing traffic may be regulated using predescribed rules and/or by schedules that act on times, periods or order. Data to be transported comes in and goes out over the Data Transport service (and optionally the Message Handling service). Furthermore the service may provide logging of each file transfer for operational and security purposes. If more complex manipulation of data in transit is necessary, then rules processing functionality is required to augment the File Engine's "intelligence"..
