Description

This function provides the connectivity and integration between the Tablet device and its peripherals.

Business purpose

This function is intended to make it possible to make use of a certain set of peripherals, such as external keyboards and mice.

Characteristics & indications of usage

  • Several classes of Tablets have limited connectivity, i.e. they may lack standard connection methods such as USB ports, SD card slots or bluetooth
  • Several classes of Tablets may offer connectivity using proprietary ports and/or protocols, limiting connnectivity to peripherals of the same manufacturer, or to peripherals for which the manufacturer of the peripheral must pay a license fee. An example is the Apple iPod connector.
