This template can show what building blocks compose a pattern. The two named parameter should be:
* ''bv'' is a page title for a building block variant;
* ''function'' describes what the function is that the building block variant fulfills within the pattern.
Both parameters must be filled. Furthermore, for '''every''' following row in the table, please include template [[Template:Pattern composition row|Pattern composition row]]. Finally, end with the pipe/angular-bracket sequence that ends a table, since the template only opens the table.

To use the template, cut and paste the following code (remove the space between the first two curly brackets):
