This box should be at the top of pages defining Pattern Variants. It takes these named parameters:
* ''PAVname'' holds the "nice" name of the pattern.
* ''summary'' takes a short, functional description of Pattern Variant to which the page relates, which is then available throughout the wiki as the "Summary string" property. If left empty it's content will become "unspecified".
* ''version'' holds the version number of the document itself.
* ''owner'' holds the designated owner of this architecture product. Please provide the [[Property:Displayname|Displayname]] of the wiki user that is the owner (or else his/her [[Special:ListUsers|login name]] without the ''User:'' prefix).

It calls upon template Pageheaderbox to create the actual box, and also delivers the ==Pattern Variant Lineage== table header above the following section, which must
end with a |} because it starts a table. If applicable, please insert one or more <nowiki>{{PAV PAT row|pat=}}</nowiki> templates.
