Adaptability [[Scalability::out]] has ordinal number [[Scalability ordinal::20]]. It's one-sentence description is:<br>
"[[Scalability description::Capacity can be scaled outward only.]]".

When a facility has outward scalability, then the capacity of the facility can be increased by deploying multiple instances of the facility itself, but in a way that precludes removing the added facilities. For example:
* a RAID-5 array kan be expanded with one or more disks, even when it's on line. However, the array cannot be shrunk to remove a disk.
